Community Guidelines
PawPact is a safe space for pet owners. These guidelines keep it that way.
This is a space for animal wellness. Every post should relate to your pet's symptoms, health, behavior, or wellbeing. Off-topic posts will be removed.
Pet owners are here because they care about their animals. Respond with empathy. Harassment, mockery, or cruel comments have no place in PawPact.
Do not claim to be a veterinarian or animal health professional unless you are a verified provider on PawPact. Sharing experiences is fine โ diagnosing is not.
Share what you observe: symptoms, behaviors, patterns. Don't claim to know exactly what's wrong. Always recommend seeing a vet for serious conditions.
Don't try to identify other owners. Don't ask for personal information. Everyone's anonymity is protected โ including yours.
PawPact is a bilingual space for owners of all animal types. Treat all pet types, cultural care practices, and languages with respect. No discrimination.
Don't post extremely graphic, violent, or disturbing images. If sharing symptom photos for context, make sure they are relevant and appropriate.
Don't post advertising, product referrals, or commercial solicitations in the community feed. Verified sponsors have their own space.
PawPact lets you create fundraisers for pet surgeries or local shelters (GoFundMe-style). Be 100% truthful about how the money will be used. PawPact keeps 3.5% to run the platform; 96.5% goes to the organizer via Stripe. Fake fundraisers, misrepresentation, or asks unrelated to animal welfare will be removed immediately and donations refunded.
Caregivers (walkers, sitters, boarders) are independent contractors offering real-world in-person services via Stripe Connect. PawPact charges 5% per completed booking; 95% goes to the caregiver. Tips are optional and 100% goes to the caregiver (PawPact takes no cut on tips). Moving jobs off-platform (skirting the fee) within 12 months of the first booking is a violation of the Caregiver Agreement.
Licensed veterinarians can connect with owners who give explicit, per-pet opt-in consent. The Care Thread is for asynchronous messaging between visits โ not real-time consultation or emergency response. PawPact is NOT a veterinary service and HIPAA does NOT apply (veterinary medicine is governed by state vet boards and the AVMA Principles of Veterinary Medical Ethics, not HIPAA).
PawPact sends push notifications only for important booking events: requests, acceptances, payments, 24h and 2h reminders, completion, tips, payouts, and cancellations. You can turn them on or off at any time from Settings โ Notifications.
